ShoeDazzle was founded in 2009 as a joint venture between Brian S. Lee, Robert Shapiro, M.J. Eng, and celebrity Kim Kardashian. The idea reportedly came from Lee's wife who said she preferred buying shoes from showrooms in Beverly Hills because you get a personal stylist and are "pampered" and made to feel beautiful.
They wondered whether the same experience could be transferred to the online eCommerce market, so they enlisted the input of friends and business partners. In 2010 further funding was raised from Lightspeed Venture Partners, to the tune of $13 million.
In 2013 ShoeDazzle brought on fashion expert Rachel Zoe as their head stylist. The same year the company merged with rival service JustFab, though both businesses are still ran as separate entities.
The ShoeDazzle concept is unlike the majority of other online stores. When you go to the site you are prompted to answer some basic fashion questions based around the styles of shoes and other fashion items that you like. This then gives the store's personal stylists a profile of what will suit you best.
As well as shoes, ShoeDazzle now supports handbags and select items of clothing and lingerie. The full catalog is not freely available and changes every month, but there is a "style" section of the site which explains more about their philosophy. Ultimately the type of styles available to you are based on what you choose in the questionnaire when signing up. These include classics and the latest trends, with boutique brands and unique offerings from famous designers as well.
ShoeDazzle supports all major US based credit cards for one off purchases and subscriptions. You can cancel the service at any time or skip a month entirely. If you are redeeming a ShoeDazzle coupon this is applied during checkout, just prior to the payment step. Just paste the code in to the promo box.
Once a month they debut a new range of items tailored for you in a virtual showroom environment. Subscribing for $39.95 gives you access to one pair of shoes from your showroom each month. If you opt not to purchase a pair that month you will be eligible for two pairs the following month, or you can skip it entirely and not pay that month. Alternatively you can use the service as a one off with no subscription at all.
Shipping is free on all orders over the value of $49 and will take up to 7 business days. Sometimes there will also be a free shipping offer which will allow you to redeem ShoeDazzle coupons for free shipping, regardless of the order value.
You can also pay extra for faster options.
Returns must be made within 45 days for a full refund. This is free of charge so long as you use their prepaid label.
