About Lands' End
The company was founded by Gary Comer in 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, as a sailboat equipment catalog. By the next decade they had expanded in to clothing and everyday home items.
While most of its sales came from the catalog they slowly began opening more retail outlets as well. With the advent of the internet the online store was launched by the late 90s.In 2002 the company was acquired by Sears who took it public in 2014.
