Why Don't You Use Coupons?

Why Don't You Use Coupons?

We all love saving money, right? Nothing better than getting those awesome boots at 25% off, or getting buy one get on free at your favourite restaurant. Sometimes you can find these deals in the sale, or maybe you have a loyalty card at the restaurant (eating our regularly can have its benefits!) But there are some much better ways to get that awesome deal without having to get your loyalty card stamped 10 times!

Coupons have exploded in popularity over the last 10 years. Whereas one time you'd have to work your way through every magazine or newspaper, now you can simply head online and find coupons for absolutely anything you can imagine. If you don't believe me, head to the main site and search for anything you like – chances are, you'll find some sort of coupon deal available. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Done? Can you believe how many deals are out there? Now, considering how easy it is – why don't you use coupons all the time?

Even if you only save 10%-20% on your purchase, that's 10%-20% still in your pocket to spend on whatever you like. For me, it's usually Pizza Hut – but you might want to spend it on something else (like the other thing I blow my savings on... Dominos).

More people are using coupons than ever before, but some  still refuse to join the majority of people saving a fortune year after year. Are you one of those people? If so, let's have a look at the reasons why this may be and help you join the happy people out there saving more money than you could ever imagine!

Why People Don't Use Coupons

People give a wide range of reasons not to use coupons and, deep down, none of them really make sense – but you can understand them. Even though you can't understand them enough to stop you slapping them round the head when they tell you they've just spent full price at Target even though you give them a load of $1 off coupons.

Firstly, there's still a stigma attached to coupons in the minds of older people. If you're a millennial (this means aged between 18-32) this doesn't really apply to you. But for older people, using coupons screamed out “please don't judge me, but I have no money so please accept this instead”. I know it sounds crazy, it's well known that rich people don't stay rich by paying full price for everything, but it is something which puts people off using coupons.

If this is something which puts you off using coupons, ask yourself this question: if you and your friend both go into a shop and buy the same thing, but she uses a coupon and gets it for half the price that you did – who'll feel better about the price they paid?

Secondly, some people find coupons inconvenient. In the past you had to find a coupon somewhere and cut it out, then store it somewhere while praying that you didn't lose it. It almost didn't seem worth the savings you made... that's if you could find the coupon when it actually came round to using it. Now, thankfully, things are a bit easier. Sites like ours store all of the coupons you need in one place and make it easy for you to find them whenever you need them. The only thing you have to do is actually make use of them!

Finally, some people are suspicious of coupons. There is sometimes that nagging feeling that the deal you see on the coupon is too good to be true and when you get to the checkout you're going to be told “sorry, that deal isn't available anymore.” Then you'll have to either pay full price or say “sorry, I can't afford it” - which would feel as embarrassing as that nightmare everyone has about giving a public speech only to notice that you've forgot to put any clothes on. The good thing about sites like ours is that the expiry date is clearly marked and we only get coupons from reputable sources – so any coupon you find will be legitimate.

As you can tell, most of the reasons for people refusing to use coupons just don't apply in today's world, so there's no reason for you to avoid using them. The trouble is... how do you get started when you've spent such a long time avoiding the use of coupons. Well, I'm glad you asked....

How To Start To Use Coupons

Coupons are all over the place today – obviously, the place for you to check out is the main site here on Coupofy.com – why us? Well, we are the USA's largest coupon & deals website. All you have to do is pop in the name of the thing you want to save money on in the search bar, or just simply browse through the listings. You're guaranteed to find something you can save money on, no matter how bizarre your tastes might be today!

When it comes to using coupons there are a few options available when it comes to using them.

Some coupons will be in the form of a discount code you use at the checkout online, these are incredibly easy to use! All you do is copy them from this site and paste them into the coupon box on the checkout of the place you are shopping at.

Some coupon codes will need to be printed out and handed over when you shop in store. Thankfully you don't need to print them out right away and keep hold of them in a safe place (remember, a “safe place” means “somewhere you'll never remember you put it”), you can just bookmark the page and come back to it when you need to use it.

Finally, other coupon codes may require you to purchase through a third party website. These websites will be places like Living Social which have special deals unavailable anywhere else. The good news is that instead of having to look through these special deals on different websites, we'll list them on here when they become available... aren't we good to you!

It might seem a little difficult to start to use coupons, but all you need to do is pop onto one site every now and again so that we can point you in the direction of the awesome deals. If anything, it's much harder to go out shopping without coupons – especially on your wallet!

Conclusion

It's understandable why people might have an aversion to couponing. When you used to have to search high and low for deals, then you had to clip the coupons and keep them somewhere safe (remember, this means somewhere you'll never remember) – it's no surprise people didn't want to do it. All of that work for 25 cents off... and for people to think you're cheap!

Thankfully, that isn't the world we live in anymore. 5 minutes on our website and you can find a deal, follow the link to the website, copy the coupon in at the checkout and voilàdiscount applied! When you use coupons you can make huge savings for hardly any work at all, so don't delay... start couponing today!
